Update 10/20/2025: SRP will continue to release water from Horseshoe Dam at a rate of approximately 1,800 cfs through the spillway along the Verde River into Bartlett Lake, that began on 10/7, lasting through 10/21. Horseshoe release could vary between 1,000 to 3,000 cfs. Bartlett Lake will continue to rise between 1 to 3 feet per day during this period. Please plan accordingly for lake level changes. Updates will be made, as necessary.

Upcoming project at Canyon Lake Arizona
Beginning Sept. 16, 2026, the water level of Canyon Lake will be lowered for approximately 16 weeks to conduct critical dam safety inspections and maintenance. Tonto National Forest will close the lake, including all boat ramps and access points, during this time.
SRP and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation perform these safety measures every 20 years to ensure dam safety and water reliability for our 2.5 million Valley residents. During the project, water will continue to be stored in other reservoirs to ensure no water is wasted while the work is performed.
